Client Overview

Math Tutor is a UK-based online education platform specialising in mathematics tutoring for students at GCSE and A-Level. The platform connects students with experienced tutors, offering structured learning programmes, on-demand resources, and live sessions built around measurable academic improvement.

With online tutoring demand growing rapidly across the UK, Math Tutor needed a digital presence that could attract students and parents actively searching for maths help, communicate the quality of their programmes clearly, and convert visitors into enrolled students.

Despite offering a genuinely strong tutoring service, Math Tutor was being held back by an outdated website that failed to rank in search results, lacked clear structure, and did not reflect the professionalism of their offering. They needed a full digital overhaul — new design, solid development, and a proper on-page SEO foundation.

To address all of these challenges, Math Tutor partnered with Delivix to deliver a conversion-focused redesign, a fast and reliable technical build, and a targeted SEO strategy to support long-term organic growth.

Math Tutor

What key challenges was Math Tutor facing?

Before partnering with Delivix, Math Tutor had several significant obstacles preventing them from reaching their growth potential online. Our team carried out a full audit and identified the following core issues:

The existing website was built on a generic template with no clear visual identity. There was no consistent branding, no logical page hierarchy, and the layout made it difficult for prospective students and parents to quickly understand what the platform offered and how to get started. It did not inspire confidence in an educational service.

Structurally, the website had serious performance problems. Pages loaded slowly on mobile, the navigation was cluttered, and there was no guided journey from awareness through to enrolment. For an education platform where clarity and trust are everything, this was a direct barrier to conversions.

From a search visibility standpoint, Math Tutor was effectively invisible online. There was no keyword strategy, no optimised titles or meta descriptions, poor heading structure, and zero internal linking. Searches for terms like “maths tutor online UK”, “GCSE maths help”, and “A-Level maths tutoring” returned competitors consistently while Math Tutor did not appear.

There was also no meaningful call-to-action strategy. Visitors arrived and had no guided next step — no enrolment prompts, no trust signals such as tutor credentials or outcome statistics, and no clear programme or pricing information. This resulted in a high bounce rate and very low conversion from visitor to enquiry.

The solution – A conversion-focused redesign, custom development, and targeted on-page SEO

Delivix approached the Math Tutor project with a clear three-phase strategy: design a website that builds trust and drives enrolment, build a fast and technically sound foundation, and implement an on-page SEO framework that puts Math Tutor in front of students at the moment they are searching.

Step 1: Discovery and strategy

We began with a structured discovery phase that included stakeholder interviews, competitor benchmarking across the UK online tutoring space, and a full technical audit of the existing website. We mapped out the typical decision-making journey for both students and parents searching for maths support, identifying the content, trust signals, and page types needed to convert that audience effectively.

This discovery phase informed a complete sitemap, wireframes, and a content plan before any design or development work began.

Step 2: Web design

Our design team created a clean, modern, and trust-driven visual identity for Math Tutor. Every design decision was focused on making it immediately clear what the platform offers, who it is for, and how to take the next step. Key design elements included:

Programme-led navigation

GCSE, A-Level, and other programmes were presented as distinct, easy-to-navigate pathways with dedicated landing pages for each level, making it simple for visitors to find exactly what they needed.

Trust signals throughout

Tutor profile sections, student outcome statistics, and parent testimonials were built into the design at every key stage of the user journey to build credibility and encourage enrolment.

Conversion-led layout

Each page was designed around a clear primary call-to-action — whether booking a free trial lesson, viewing tutor profiles, or exploring a specific programme — to guide visitors from interest to action.

Mobile-first approach

Given that the majority of searches come from mobile, every element was designed for a flawless mobile experience from the outset, with fast load times and simplified navigation on smaller screens.

Step 3: Web development

Once designs were approved, our development team built the Math Tutor website on a robust and scalable WordPress foundation, with performance, flexibility, and ease of management as the core priorities.

Performance optimisation

We implemented image compression, lazy loading, server-side caching, and a lean codebase to achieve fast load times across all devices. Site speed is critical for both user experience and search engine ranking, particularly on mobile.

Custom enrolment flow

We developed a guided booking and enquiry journey that allowed prospective students to select their programme level, view available tutors, and submit an enrolment request — all within a smooth and structured experience that reduced friction and increased conversions.

Scalable content management

The backend was configured to allow the Math Tutor team to easily add tutor profiles, update programme details, and publish new content without any technical knowledge, giving them full control of their site going forward.

Step 4: On-page SEO

With the new site built, our SEO team implemented a thorough on-page optimisation strategy designed to put Math Tutor in front of students and parents actively searching for maths tutoring:

  • Keyword mapping: High-intent keywords were mapped across each programme page, including “GCSE maths tutor online”, “A-Level maths help UK”, and “online maths tutoring for students”.
  • Title tags and meta descriptions: Every page received unique, keyword-optimised titles and meta descriptions written to maximise click-through rates from search results.
  • Heading structure: H1, H2, and H3 tags were structured logically across all pages to clearly signal content relevance to search engines.
  • Internal linking: A deliberate internal linking strategy was implemented to distribute page authority and guide users from discovery through to enrolment.
  • Schema markup: Educational organisation and course schema were added to help Google understand and feature the content in rich results.

Key results – How Delivix delivered Math Tutor its desired results?

Within the first three months following launch, Math Tutor saw meaningful improvements across all key performance indicators:

Improved search visibility

Organic rankings improved across target keywords, with multiple programme pages appearing on the first page of Google for high-intent search terms. The structured on-page SEO foundation positioned Math Tutor for continued long-term organic growth.

Stronger user engagement

Average session duration increased and bounce rate dropped significantly as visitors were guided through a clear, well-structured experience. The improved content and layout gave users the information they needed to make confident enrolment decisions.

Higher enrolment conversions

With a clear user journey, strategically placed calls-to-action, and trust signals throughout, enrolment enquiries increased substantially following the launch of the new site. The conversion-focused design translated directly into business growth.
